Irrigation stands for a hydro-technical action for improving the physical features of soil by adding water in order to establish optimal moisture during vegetation, and thus provide an optimal harvest.

Irrigation is done within one part of the vegetative period or during the entire vegetative period. The water is taken from water flows, artificial lakes, springs, or filtered waste waters.

According to the way of transferring water into capillary water in the soil, there are three types of irrigation: surface irrigation, sub-irrigation, and drip irrigation.
